2010 STATION CONTRACTING HAS BEEN SOLD OUT!!!!!   THANK YOU TO ALL THAT PARTICIPATED!

Answers to commonly asked questions regarding the gas contracting.

  1. Why is the price of the contract higher than the prices of gas today?  Cedar County Co-op has purchased gas on the futures market and this is typically higher priced.
  2. What if the price at the pump during the contract period is less than my contract price?  You are committing to buy a specific amount of gas from Cedar County Co-op at the price listed on the contract.
  3.  What if I have unused gallons left at the end of the contract period?  You will be charged in September for any unused gallons at the difference between your contract price and the market price if the market price is lower.
  4. Can I buy market priced gas with my card first and use my contract priced gas later?  Once the contract is signed you will only be able to buy the fixed-priced gas, during the period of contract, on your card.  When you use up all your contracted gallons, the price will then be back to market pricing.
  5. Can I just tell you to lock in a set amount of gallons for me?  Cedar County Coop must have a signed contract in order to participate in the program.
  6. Why does my receipt print the pump price, not my contract price?  The contract priced gas will be shown on your monthly statement and not on the pump receipt.
  7. What is the minimum gallon amount I can lock in?  You have to sign up for at least 200 gallon to participate.
  8. What is the contract time period?  The contract runs from May 1, 2010 until August 31, 2010.
  9. Can I use my major credit card?  No, this offer is only available with the use of our Co-op gas card.

This may help answer some of your questions.  If you have other questions please call us at 563-886-6177 and we will be happy to assist you.  Remember, no one knows what the price of gas will be this summer.  Cedar County Co-op is proud to be able to offer you this program and you have to decide if it is right for you.
